With all good intentions, we started out our Car Free Friday. Things were going good. We walked to our local schoolyard to throw the ball for the dog, we went for a stroller ride and run, and then came home for lunch. Then the wee one with big lungs, aka Evangeline age 1, threw the fit to end all fits. This was a crawling around on the ground, inconsolable, yelling with fists clenched, slap mummy, tantrum. Nothing would calm her down. Not cookies - nothing (I know, I know, don't bribe your kids with food - next time she does this, I will bring her to your house and you are free to try food-free techniques for invoking peace and tranquility). Now I need to emphasize this was after a night of almost 2 hours trying to get her to go to sleep, AND having to pick her up early from daycare the day before AND having to pick her up early from my parents house because of same type of said fit. So, I thought to myself, she is in pain, you need to get this kid to the doctor - never mind Car Free Friday.

So away we went. We arrived at the doctor's office (which of course we drove to because it is not close) and it turns out, well, she is fine. She might be getting some teeth in, but other than that, I think she is a very stubborn miss baby. Unfortunately, or fortunately? she takes after her mother in this regard.
So how could we have avoided this...well, truth be told, I don't really know. Children seem so ultimately fragile at this age, it is difficult not to run to a medical professional anytime we fear for their health. That is the way we are. I love her forever.
